X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Lizzy Mason grew up in northern Virginia b
efore moving to New York City for college and a career in publishing. Now
back in Virginia with her two cats\, when not reading or writing\, Lizzy l
oves to travel. She has visited forty-four states and eleven countries so
far. She is the author of <em>The Art of Losing</em> and <em>Between the B
liss and Me</em>.</p>\n<p><em>Between the Bliss and Me</em>:</p>\n<p>When
eighteen-year-old Sydney Holman announces that she's accepted a large fina
ncial gift from her grandparents and has decided to attend NYU\, her famil
y is shocked. Her decision means she will be living in the Big City instea
d of commuting to Rutgers like her mom had hoped. It also means she'll be
close to off-limits but dreamy Grayson&mdash\;a guitar prodigy who is goin
g to Juilliard in the fall and very much isn't single.</p>\n<p>But while s
he dreams of her new life\, Sydney discovers a world-changing truth about
her past: the story she believed about her father\, who left when she was
little due to a drug addiction\, is not the whole story&mdash\;he has schi
zophrenia and is currently living on the streets of New York City. While s
he considers reconnecting with a father she never really knew\, Sydney als
o learns that there's a statistical chance that she will develop schizophr
enia within the next few years.</p>\n<p>Even as she continues to fall for
Grayson\, Sydney is faced with a difficult decision: Should she stay close
to home so her mom can watch over her\, or follow the desire to take risk
s and discover her true self?</p>\n<p><em>The Art of Losing</em>:&nbsp\;</
 p>\n<p>One terrible night\, 17-year-old Harley Langston&rsquo\;s life chan
ges forever. A car accident leaves her younger sister\, Audrey\, in a coma
 . Harley&rsquo\;s boyfriend\, Mike\, was at the wheel&mdash\;drunk at the
time\, though relatively unscathed. The sickening irony is that Audrey wou
ld be fine if Harley hadn&rsquo\;t caught her wasted with Mike at a party
and abandoned her in a rage. Now Harley is left only with guilt\, grief\,
pain and the undeniable truth that her ex-boyfriend has a drinking problem
. So it&rsquo\;s a surprise that she finds herself reconnecting with Raf\,
a neighbor and childhood friend who&rsquo\;s recently out of rehab and st
ill wrestling with his own demons. At first Harley doesn&rsquo\;t want to
get too close to him. But as Audrey awakens from her coma and slowly recov
ers\, Raf starts to show Harley a path forward that she never would have b
 elieved possible\, one guided by honesty\, forgiveness\, and redemption</p
