 newest book\,&nbsp\;<em>The Moonlight School</em>:</p>\n<p>Great stories m
 ove people. So do great people. Cora Wilson Stewart was such a person. In 
 1911\, she was the first female superintendent of education for an Appalac
 hian county in Kentucky\, a corner of America with a shocking rate of adul
 t illiteracy. Cora had a plan: To open the county&rsquo\;s rural schoolhou
 ses on moonlit nights to illiterate and semi-illiterate adults. On that fi
 rst night\, she hoped for 150 adults. To her shock and delight\, over 1200
  men and women\, aged eighteen to eighty\, made their way over the hills a
 nd hollows to learn how to read and write. Within two years\, adult illite
 racy was virtually eliminated in the county&nbsp\;and a movement to eradic
 ate illiteracy in the entire nation was underway.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><img src=
