  co-founder of Avian Research and Conservation Institute in Gainesville\, 
 Florida\, will be discussing the conservation needs and importance of nati
 ve plants to the birds around us. In the course of conducting over 40 year
 s of field research and producing management and conservation plans\, Meye
 r and his team have studied the behavior and ecology of 16 species of bird
 s of conservation concern in North\, Central\, and South America. In 2002\
 , and again in 2014\, Ken received a Partners in Flight National Research 
 Award for studying the conservation biology of species at risk\; and in 20
 05\, a National Wildlife Stewardship Award from the Sustainable Forestry I
 nitiative for cooperative studies of Swallow-tailed Kites.</p>\n<p>We will
  also hear from Ms. Marcie Clutter a longtime activity leader of the Flori
 da Trail Association and Board member of the Citrus County Native Plant So
 ciety will talk some more about native plants and their importance to the 
 ecological systems of Birds. Then stay to learn from Max Schulman and Tom 
 Craig about the treasure of birds that can be found on the trails here in 
 Citrus County. We will also get to hear about our local Citrus County Audu
