 rn central Mexico. As Mexico&rsquo\;s population became more and more urba
 n in the twentieth century\, so did mariachi music. Mexican radio\, record
 ings\, cinema\, and television featured mariachi music\, and the music spr
 ead to all corners of Mexico and beyond. The electronic media and immigrat
 ion from Mexico has made mariachi music an important form of musical expre
 ssion in the United States.</p>\n<p>We've extended Hispanic Heritage Month
  by a week at the Wheaton Library for this performance. It will be held in
