 tion and articulation that will guide the reluctant artist to write about 
 their work. The goal is to enable participants to express\; in their own v
 oice\, the uniqueness of their practice\, while also helping them move for
 ward creatively. Artist and mentor Lyla Rye will begin with statement guid
 elines and discussion about the act of writing\, as a visual person.&nbsp\
 ; Participants will be provided with examples of artists&rsquo\; statement
 s and online resources and have the task of writing broken down into manag
 eable components.</p>\n<p>This workshop is offered in two parts. In part 1
  we&rsquo\;ll look at guidelines and examples and in part 2 we&rsquo\;ll g
 et to writing. We recommend registering for both parts\, but you are also 
 welcome to register for either part independently.</p>\n<p><a href="https:

 ptember 28\, 2022.</a></p>\n<p><strong>Instructor Bio:</strong></p>\n<p>Ly
 la Rye began her studies in architecture\, then focused on drawing and pai
 nting during an undergraduate degree at York University. After completing 
 a Master&rsquo\;s degree at the San Francisco Art Institute\, she focused 
 on installation\, video and photography. Rye&nbsp\;has been practicing pro
 fessionally and exhibiting actively for over 30 years.&nbsp\; Her work has
  been exhibited across Canada and internationally.</p>\n<p>Lyla Rye has ta
 ught at the Ontario College of Art and Design University\, University of G
 uelph\, Queen&rsquo\;s University\, University of Toronto Continuing Studi
 es\, Toronto School of Art\, the San Francisco Art Institute and in the Ar
 t and Art History Department at Sheridan College joint with University of 
 Toronto Mississauga.&nbsp\; For over 5 years she coordinated the studio in
 tensive\, post-degree program at Toronto School of Art\, leading group sem
 inars as well as mentoring a student in the program each term. She&nbsp\;h
 as been an admissions juror for both secondary and post-secondary programs
 \, a juror for provincial artist grants and an examiner for 5 Master of Fi
 ne Arts thesis defenses and an external advisor for 3 MFA candidates.</p>\
 n<p>Since 2013 Rye has been mentoring visual artists through <a href="http
 s://www.mentorlylarye.com/">Mentor Lyla Rye.</a></p>\n<p>This program is d
