\nAs our year-long celebration comes to an end we wish the best to you and your family! \;But before we close out our V icennial of Black Excellence\, it's Kwanzaa Time! \; \;This year w e will introduce a \;Kwanzaa \;Night Market for the entire family& nbsp\;celebrating and honoring the \;principles \;of \;Nguzo&n bsp\;Saba. \;
\nKwanzaa (/ˈkwÉ‘Ën.zÉ™/) is an annual celebration of African \;American culture that is h eld from December 26 to January 1. This year's festival will \;coincid e with the \;third day of Kwanzaa which encourages Ujima\, or &l squo\;Collective Work and Responsibility&rsquo\;. \; Focusing on colle ctive work and responsibility\, this event is AARLCC&rsquo\;s offering whe re we provide the community with holistic workshops on health\, wellness\, and purpose. Building on our past celebrations\, \;SoFlo \;Kwanza a Experience \;introduced \;programs geared towards healing and \;restoring \;our \;communities \;and as we explore&nb sp\;the importance of \;health and wellness\, our 2022 \;SoFlo&nbs p\;Kwanzaa Experience \;theme is Black Health and Wellness: \;Supporting \;Holistic \;Entrepreneurship. Putting into practice the principles of Kwanzaa \;every day\, we are building a collaborativ e network \;individuals\, families\, and communities to create a \ ;five-year \;Kwanzaa \;plan for 2021- \;2026\, \;and we ar e excited to reveal our \;2023 \;theme \;during \;this yea r&rsquo\;s festivities! \;

The Browar
d County African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC)&nb
sp\;is located in the Sistrunk community\, one of the oldest historically
Black communities named for one of Fort Lauderdale&rsquo\;s first Black ph
ysicians. Opening to the public on October 26\, 2002\, AARLCC became the t
hird public library of its kind in the United States dedicated to the stud
y of Black history and culture. The 60\,000 square-foot Center serves as a
repository of materials related to the local\, national\, and internation
al voices of the African diaspora with more than 85\,000 books\, manuscrip
ts\, artifacts\, framed art\, print\, photography\, audiovisual\, and docu
ments held in our Adult Services Section and Special Collections. The Yout
h Services Section features a special collection of Coretta Scott King Awa
rd books and the Ashley Bryan Art Collection from illustrators of African
Descent. AARLCC also features a 5\,000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-seat state-o
f-the-art theatre\, and a Computer Training Center.
