 voice of the M&eacute\;tis Nation within Canada. Through the Canada-M&eacu
 te\;tis Nation Accord\, the MNC advocates on behalf of its Governing Membe
 rs&mdash\;the democratically elected M&eacute\;tis Governments of Ontario\
 , Saskatchewan\, Alberta and British Columbia&mdash\;to advance M&eacute\;
 tis rights and interests within their respective jurisdictions\, including
  the implementation of the M&eacute\;tis Nation&rsquo\;s inherent right to
  self-determination and self-government. The MNC is committed to accountab
 ility and transparency within its operations\, and to its relationships wi
 th MNC Governing Members.&nbsp\;Cassidy&nbsp\;Caron&nbsp\;is the President
  of the M&eacute\;tis National Council.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Cassidy&nbsp\;Caron
 &nbsp\;is a M&eacute\;tis woman with roots in the historic M&eacute\;tis c
 ommunities of Batoche and St. Louis\, Saskatchewan. She grew up closely co
 nnected to her M&eacute\;tis traditions\, heritage and culture and is driv
 en by her family and community values of respect\, honesty\, collaboration
  and responsibility.&nbsp\;Cassidy&nbsp\;is the first elected woman to hol
 d the office of President of the M&eacute\;tis National Council.</p>\n<p>C
 assidy&nbsp\;is a Nation-builder. Utilizing the knowledge\, skills and per
 spectives acquired through her formal education\, professional and politic
 al experiences\, as well as through her deep community involvement\,&nbsp\
 ;Cassidy&rsquo\;s goal is to explore and utilize innovative approaches to 
 community development and Nation-building\, which promote effective collab
 oration and deeper understanding between Indigenous peoples and all Canadi
 ans.</p>\n<p>As an entrepreneur\,&nbsp\;Cassidy&nbsp\;has advised and eval
 uated both provincially and nationally administered programs that aim to s
 erve and support Indigenous peoples and communities across Canada. She has
  also supported the implementation of initiatives in\, by and for Indigeno
 us communities throughout Canada in a variety of sectors&mdash\;all of whi
 ch sought to achieve an overarching goal of restoring balance and wellness
