 aty partners of the Town of Oakville\, and the current Town is located on 
 Treaty #14 and Treaty #22 lands. This virtual session is an opportunity to
  learn more about the Mississaugas of the Credit and discover the stories 
 of the treaties themselves during Treaties Recognition Week 2022.</p>\n<p>
 Many may not realize that the Head of the Lake Treaty\, Treaty 14\, was ne
 gotiated immediately following the Toronto Purchase\, nor are they aware t
 hat Treaty #22 is a trust. Join Darin Wybenga as he gives us more informat
 ion about Treaties #14 and #22\, their significance when negotiated as wel
 l as their aftermath. He will share his perspective of what Reconciliation
  means to him: recognizing and respecting the spirit of the Treaties\, and
  working collaboratively on the path of Reconciliation. Time will be made 
 available at the end of the session for a Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>Speaker Bio: P
 rior to working with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation\, Darin W
 ybenga was an educator in elementary schools in Southern Ontario. Speciali
 zing as a teacher of history and geography\, he also served as a vice-prin
 cipal and curriculum coordinator. In recent years\, he has worked for the 
 MCFN as the Traditional Knowledge and Land Use Coordinator for the Mississ
 augas of the Credit&rsquo\;s Dept. of Consultation and Accommodation. His 
 work in the department primarily consists of educating project proponents 
 about the history of the treaty lands\, territory\, and people of the Miss
 issaugas of the Credit First Nation.</p>\n<p>Skills Learned: Critical thin
