  been an advocate for youth and education for more than thirty years and i
 s the author of "Bringing the Light into a New Day: 365 Black Nuggets of W
 isdom for Each Day of the Year\," "African Centered Rites of Passage and E
 ducation Foundation: African-Centered Education\," and "Facing the Rising 
 Sun: Lessons For the Authentic Self."</p>\n<p>Dr. Goggins' formal studies 
 include Geography\, Higher Education Administration\, Learning Theory\, Ph
 ilosophy and Foundations of Education\, African-American Studies\, African
 -centered Rites of Passage\, HIV/AIDS Prevention Instruction\, Cultural Di
 versity\, Trauma Sensitive Teaching Practices\, Restorative Practices\, an
 d Anti-Racist Education. Professionally\, Dr. Goggins has worked with "at-
 risk" youth as a Prevention Specialist and has worked for more than 20 yea
 rs in higher education. As a scholar\, he examines the relationships betwe
 en socialization\, learning theories\, and academic achievement. Particula
 rly using the rites of passage model as a framework for educators to bette
 r understand where students are in their development and what services and
  activities would be appropriate. Additionally\, Dr. Goggins is the primar
 y investigator of the&nbsp\;First Person Research Projects.</p>\n<p>The pr
 ogram is virtual and will be presented on Zoom. A log-in will be sent no l
