 . The first Burns Night supper was held in Scotland in 1801. Since that ti
 me\,&nbsp\;new traditions have been added but the sentiment remains the sa
 me: to pay tribute to Scotland's national poet. In addition to food and dr
 ink from Scotland (try the Haggis!) traditional recitals on the evening in
 clude the 'Selkirk Grace' and the 'Address to a Haggis'. Other recitals on
  the evening include a speech commemorating Burns and a toast to the great
  man\, known as the 'Immortal Memory'\, the 'Address to the Lassies' and o
 f course 'The Reply from the Lassies'\, which are normally created especia
