 unity to harness the power of words and storytelling for change! He is the
  author of the Newbery Award winning book\, The Crossover\, Newbery Honor/
 Caldecott Medal winning book\, The Undefeated\, and most recently\, An Ame
 rican Story\, for an Illinois Libraries Present event for young people and
  their families.</p>\n<p><strong>Please note that this program will be pre
 sented live without a recording.</strong></p>\n<p>Kwame Alexander is a poe
 t\, educator\, publisher\, and New York Times Bestselling author of 36 boo
 ks\, including Swing\, Becoming Muhammad Ali\, co-authored with James Patt
 erson\, Rebound\, The Undefeated\, The Crossover\, and The Door of No Retu
 rn. A regular contributor to NPR's Morning Edition\, Kwame is the recipien
 t of numerous awards\, including The Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award\, Th
 e Coretta Scott King Author Honor\, Three NAACP Image Award Nominations\, 
 and the 2017 Inaugural Pat Conroy Legacy Award. In 2018\, he opened the Ba
 rbara E. Alexander Memorial Library and Health Clinic in Ghana\, as a part
  of LEAP for Ghana\, an international literacy program he co-founded. He i
 s the writer and executive producer of The Crossover show on Disney+.</p>\
