series features experts from a variety of health and medical fields cover
ing topics you want to know more about!<br /><br /></p>\n<p>When a person
has a cardiac arrest\, survival depends on immediately receiving CPR from
someone nearby. According to the American Heart Association\, about 90 per
cent of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. CPR\, espec
ially if performed immediately\, can double or triple a cardiac arrest vic
tim&rsquo\;s chance of survival. Hands-Only CPR has been shown to be as ef
fective in the first few minutes as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest at
home\, at work or in public. Hailee Bair from the Washington Regional Med
ical Center\, American Heart Association Training Center will teach us Han
ds-Only CPR. (Please note that this is a non-certification class.)&nbsp\;<
