Dr. Connell Miller is a full-time "Wind Im pacts Researcher" for the Northern Tornadoes Project at Western University \, as well as a drone pilot with an Advanced Operations license from Trans port Canada. The Northern Tornadoes Project aims to better detect tornado occurrence throughout Canada\, improve severe and extreme weather understa nding and prediction\, mitigate against harm to people and property\, and investigate future implications due to climate change. Dr. Miller is the h ead of the remote sensing team at the Northern Tornadoes Project and is re sponsible for the development and implementation of drone imagery to map t he path of tornadoes. His current research is focused on new ways to colle ct information about the damage done by tornadoes\, such as through drones \, Streetview cameras\, and satellite vegetation indices.
