Specifically\, these conversation s will focus on hate towards Black and Brown people\, the LGBTQ community\ , the Jewish community\, Asian Americans and Immigrants. \nJeneé\; Osterheldt is a cultur e columnist who covers identity and social justice through the lens of cul ture and the arts. She centers Black lives and the lives of people of colo r. Sometimes this means writing about Beyoncé\; and Black womanhood or unpacking the importance of public art and representation. Sometimes th is means taking systemic racism\, sexism\, and oppression to task. It alwa ys means Black lives matter.
\nShe joined the Globe in 2018. A nativ e of Alexandria\, Va. and a graduate of Norfolk State University\, Osterhe ldt was a 2017 Nieman Fellow at Harvard\, where her studies focused on the intersection of art and justice. She previously worked as a Kansas City S tar culture columnist.
