experience transitioning from male to female when she was 26 and what she
lost\, what she gained\, the battles she waged\, and those yet to come. S
he will also answer any questions you may have about the 2SLGBTQ+ communit
y here in Waterloo Region\, including what all those acronyms mean! Cait i
 s an activist educator\, retiree\, translator\, mother\, grandmother\, and
one of those Marxists your mother warned you about.&nbsp\; She was assign
ed male at birth but identified as female since she was four years old.&nb
 sp\; Even though she lost everything - family\, friends\, job\, home - whe
n she transitioned\, it was the best choice she ever made because she can
be herself.&nbsp\; And that is HUGE!&nbsp\; She served in the Canadian Arm
ed Forces but was discharged once they found out she was transgender.&nbsp
\; She was President of and continues to work with Spectrum Waterloo for m
any years\, an organization that serves\, affirms\, and supports the well-
being of 2SLGBTQ+ people in the Waterloo Region.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\nhttps:
