  in 1847. Once a bustling community of over 200 African Americans\, Rosewo
 od would be razed to the ground by a vigilante mob during the Massacre of 
 1923\, in which at least 8 people were killed and a town was terrorized.</
 p>\n<p>The Rosewood Massacre's 100th anniversary is the first week of Janu
 ary. As part of the centennial events Lizzie Jenkins of the <a href="https
 ://www.rosewoodflorida.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Real Rosewood 
 Foundation</a> will be speaking about the Massacre and the last 100 years.
