If you&rsquo\;ve been to the City of Canals as a tour ist\, or if you are eager to go\, you will relish spending an hour with wo rks that transport us to this unique and magical place. \;
\nPre senter: Janet Mandel taught in New Jersey&rsquo\;s public schools for 32 y ears\, the last eighteen of which were at Columbia High School in Maplewoo d\, where she taught English\, art history\, and World Languages and Cultu res. In October of 2003\, she was named runner-up for the New Jersey Counc il for the Humanities (NJCH) Teacher the Year award\, and was formally rec ognized by the New Jersey State Legislature and Governor Codey for this ac hievement. In May of 2004\, she was the recipient of the &ldquo\;Innovatio ns in Special Education Award&rdquo\; from the New Jersey School Boards As sociation (NJSBA) and the Association of Schools and Agencies for the Hand icapped (ASAH). Pre-COVID\, Janet presented illustrated talks on a variety of art history topics in-person\; now she is busier than ever presenting virtually for adult schools\, libraries\, museums\, senior centers\, commu nity centers\, and similar venues
