The Allen County Public Library Gen ealogy Center and the Northeast Indiana Jewish Genealogy Society are excit ed to welcome Dr. Nicholas J. Evans\, a Senior Lecturer in diaspora histor y at the University of Hull\, for a series of free virtual programs on the first three Tuesdays in February\, beginning at 2:30 p.m. &ldquo\;The Mak ing of a Mosaic: European Migrant Journeys During the Age of Steam&rdquo\; will be presented in three parts. These lectures are in conjunction with the Genealogy Center&rsquo\;s Tuesday afternoon virtual programs.
\nThis second session of Making of a Mosaic will illustrate the details of b oth the direct and indirect routes enabling Europeans to reach the America n eastern seaboard.
\nAdditional information on Dr. Nicholas Evans:< br />Besides teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Humanities at the University of Hull\, Dr. Nicholas Evans uses h is research on voluntary and coerced migration around the Atlantic to empo wer religious and ethnic minority communities. He &ldquo\;relishes&rdquo\; in helping people unearth the personal stories of their migrant ancestors . Dr. Evans has spent the last 17 years as an academic researcher in the p rize-winning Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipati on in his home city of Hull\, England.
