The band GRGL (pronounced "gurgle") will bring us their &ldquo\;sound of the future&rdquo\;. \; &ldquo\;In a city smothered in multiple air pollutants\, GRGL-ing will so on become our default method of communication. Throats coated under layers of chlorine\, arsenic\, COVID-19\, and other particulate matter will burb le and rasp\, begging pittance from the few that have escaped the maw of u nchecked property values still able to afford the dusty luxury of drywall. \; GRGL is a band that makes use of ample volume and distortion combi ned with slow tempos\, odd-time signatures\, and low tunings to create bro oding\, grooving\, doom-y music. \; The dynamic-less duo's debut\, &ls quo\;Street Weepers&rsquo\; - a collection of songs about homelessness in Salt Lake City - may be available by the time of this 12MM concert.&rdquo\ ;

xander Woods will be screening a film they wrote and directed tit
led Nothing New Under the Sun. &ldquo\;Gus\, a photographer\, is
trying to process the death of his father through his work. He encounters
a peculiar woman who challenges his ideas about the purpose of his picture
-taking.&rdquo\; Another project that the writer/director pair had in moti
on was blindsided by the pandemic in 2020. They pivoted and created this p
iece. The constraints of shooting outside in the Uinta National Forest cul
minated in the film&rsquo\;s time-bending\, memory-like tone. Brett Merrit
t &\; Carolyn Hartvigsen star in the film.

nathan Starr. \; &ldquo\;The method of this practice focuses on three
things: imagination and memory recall/invention/archiving\, the range betw
een ambiguity and clarity\, and the timing of decision-making. \; My p
ractice asks questions like: How does one maintain their tenderness withou
t shying away from effort and ambition? \; Can the practice embolden b
oth my soft-hearted instincts and my inner feminine\, brutal ferocity?&rdq
uo\; \; Courtney is a movement artist\, maker\, collaborator\, and edu
cator who received her BFA in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin
\; then trained under Summer Lee Rhatigan at the San Francisco Conservator

ormance series\, presented by the Salt Lake City Public Library\, featurin
g original experimental works by local artists in many disciplines\, inclu
ding dance\, music\, film\, and more. Each event includes three varied per
formances\, with a short Q&\;A after each piece. It is modeled after th
e program originated by On the Boards in Seattle.
