Fayetteville Public Library is partnering with CARE Community Center as a venue for free tax preparation on Tuesdays and Thursdays this tax filing season. \;This program is a Volunteer I ncome Tax Assistance (VITA) program from the IRS. \;
\nCARE Comm unity Center provides free income tax preparation to eligible taxpayers.&n bsp\;Taxpayers must have a gross income of $68\,000 or less to be eligible for tax preparation services. \;Their certified volunteers complete h ours of training to ensure taxpayers receive quality tax preparation servi ce\, an accurate tax return to be filed in a timely manner\, and to ensure all appropriate tax credits are utilized.
\nSessions are by appoint ment for intake service\, and do not provide walk in appointments due to C OVID-19. Per state regulations\, you must wear a face covering when you in teract with our volunteers and maintain a six feet distance.
\nTo fu rther limit exposure\, CARE Community Center offers a new Mobile App optio n that is available on their website. \;This app allows for tax prepar ation without coming in to one of our locations. \;
\nBeginning January 24\, appointments at the Fayetteville Public Library will be on Tu esdays and Thursdays between 9:30 a.m.&ndash\;3 p.m. \;To make an appo intment\, please call 479-246-0104 or visit www.carecc.org\, to see all Ta x Center days and locations\, as well as additional helpful information.&n bsp\; Informational tax packets must be completed before your scheduled ap pointment. \;Packets are available on the CARE Community Center websit e or at the library&rsquo\;s Help Desk.
