Join us for an eclectic reading of poetry\ , fiction\, and memoir by three New Orleans writers. The reading will be f ollowed by a book signing and meet-and-greet with the authors. \;
\ nSara Jacobelli has worked numerous jobs including dishwasher\, busgirl \, bartender\, newspaper reporter\, special education teacher\, and librarian. Her flash fiction\, short stories\, and nonfiction have been pu blished in various places including \;First Stop Fiction\,&nb sp\;Drunk Monkeys Literary Magazine\, \;Bartleby Snopes\, \;Fiction on the Web\, \;The Story Shack\, \;The New Laurel Review\, \;One-Sentence Stories\, \;Jambalaya \;and the \;New York Times  Metropolitan Diary. \;
\nGeorge Koschel has had short stori es\, poetry\, and essays published in a number of small independent litera ry journals\, college affiliated journals\, and online magazines starting in 1978. Some of these include \;A &\; U\, \;Coe R eview\, \;Colere\, \;Ellipsis\, \;g lbtq on-line encyclopedia\, \;Nebo\, \;New Laure l Review\, \;RFD\, and \;Trajectory. Curren tly he works as an assistant editor for \;New Laurel Review. Since 1992\, he's volunteered at NOAIDS doing HIV test counseling. For the past three years he's also been doing stand up (comedy\, he \;hopes) at various open mic nights in New Orleans. \; \;
\nPhyllis Parun &mdash\; a New Orleans native\, visual artist\, and writer\, educate d at LSU New Orleans\, LSU Baton Rouge\, University of Pennsylvania\, and Harvard &mdash\; began her lifelong path as a \;culturer \;in the arts beginning at the New Orleans Public Library Artists Information Burea u in 1976. She has published interviews\, articles\, essays\, plays\, poem s\, and e-Zines on wide variety topics in local and national publications including cover art\, illustrations\, photography\, and essays. Her social -political activism is documented in \;Veteran Feminists of Americ a\, and \;Remapping Second-Wave-Feminism: 1950-97. \ ;Ms. Parun has received grants from the \;Puffin Foundation&n bsp\;and \;Poets and Writers \;and authored five books of poetry: \;New Orleans Born\, \;New Orleans between P oetry and the Blues\, \;Love's Arrows\, \;Oasis< /em>\, and \;My Dance with Time. \;
