Apparel and footwe ar production make up approximately 10% of annual greenhouse gas emissions . With global population growth and an expected corresponding increase in consumers with disposable income\, the percent contribution to global warm ing attributed to the fashion industry will continue to increase. Lisa Gol dsand will discuss near and long term solutions involving technology and i nnovation\, investment\, and public / private partnership trends. She will also discuss the most meaningful actions which we as citizens and communi ty members can take at a local and global level to support a shift toward more sustainable fashion. Celebrate Earth Day by learning about how we can make our wardrobes and closets more sustainable.

Presenter bio:\n

Lisa Goldsand has held senior leadership positions in the apparel industry\, most recently with Abercrombie &\; Fitch\, a nd has 30 years of experience in manufacturing\, sourcing\, operations\, a nd change management.

\n

She has lived and worked in Central America and in Asia\, and has supported the manufacturing operations of several in ternational companies in her career. Lisa&rsquo\;s &lsquo\;on the ground&r squo\; experience includes end-to-end product development and supply chain management of apparel and personal care products. She understands how the industry operates\, but is also passionate about the need to adapt to a m ore circular model to reduce its impact on climate change and natural reso urce consumption. \;

Lisa is now piloting localized\, repeatab le projects which advance sustainability and circularity to address textil e waste. \; Her company is called Circular Thrift LLC.

Lisa li ves with her family in Bexley\, OH\, where she serves as secretary of the Environmental and Sustainability Action Committee of her municipality.
