With 25 years of National Park Service as a volunteer Everglades interp retive ranger\, Ellen also holds the UF/IFAS Master Naturalist certificate . As well as being a National Park Service volunteer ranger\, leading visi tors into active alligator holes for fun\, she also is committed to creati ng climate conversations wherever she goes. She created this Climate Conve rsations presentation series to help the lay public understand the science \, the seriousness\, and the solutions of climate change.

Ellen ha s taught with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of M iami and the Institute for Retired Learners at the University of Florida\, as well as teaching civic and religious groups\, the Sierra Club\, and th e Florida Trail Association.
