About the Author: Kelly J. Baptist is the auth or of several works for young readers. She won the 2015 We Need Diverse Bo oks short story contest with The Beans and Rice Chronicles of Isaiah D unn\, which is included in the anthology\, Flying Lessons and Oth er Stories. As a result of her work in an urban school district\, Kel ly felt compelled to continue Isaiah&rsquo\;s story with the novels \; Isaiah Dunn is My Hero \;and Isaiah Dunn Saves the Day for middle grade readers. Kelly's additional works include the Sunshine State Award-winning picture book\, The Electric Slide and Kai\, and the novels \;The Swag is in the Socks \;and \;Eb &\; Flow.
