In this arts-based workshop\, participants will have an opportunity to explore changes in their lives and relationsh ips through the metaphor of &lsquo\;Migration of Identity&rsquo\;. This me taphor has its origins in Narrative Therapy\, and invites individuals to m ap the personal and relational journeys they are in the midst of\, or have taken and the changes they have experienced within themselves as a result . \; Such journeys might include becoming a parent\, loss of a loved o ne\, moving from one place to another\, the ending or beginning of a relat ionship\, changes to lifestyle\, and many others both small and large.&nbs p\; \;
\nThrough writing and visual arts participants will be gu ided and invited to explore themes of change\, rites of passage\, choice\, and hope in the context of movement from one way of being to another.&nbs p\;
\nThis workshop is offered in conjunction with the Cambridge Art Galleries\, Preston exhibition: Mark Cr ofton Bell: The Mom Project.
\nAbout the Instru ctor: Ali Burke is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 14 years experience\, she currently has a private practice in C ambridge\, Ontario. \; Her work is grounded in the theories of Narrati ve Therapy\, which sees \;people as having many skills\, competencies\ , beliefs\, values\, commitments and abilities that will assist them to ch ange their relationship with problems in their lives. \; She integrate s mindfulness\, cognitive behavioural therapy\, and emotion focused therap y into her work. \;
