What is a zine? Zines are small\, DIY book lets (short for magazine or fanzine) that can mix art\, poems\, writing\, and collage. Zines are often used as a social justice publishing format fo r writers and artists to advocate for issues that matter to them\, but the y can also share personal stories\, family histories\, funny comics\, or m ore. We'll provide plenty of zines to look at for inspiration and all the supplies you need: staplers\, drawing supplies\, paper\, adhesives\, sciss ors\, discarded book scraps\, photo printers\, and free photocopying! You can fill your zine with art\, writing\, collages\, stickers\, or anything else you want.
\nYou will leave with at least one completed zine\, a s well as handouts and templates to make more\, but you can also help crea te a little zine library in the Teen Room! With permission\, we'll make co pies of your zine to make available in the Teen Room for others to discove r and be inspired by.
