hr />\n<p>When it comes to blended families\, a common question is often h
ow do I provide for my new spouse while still preserving my assets for my
children from my previous relationship? Tax law provides benefits when tra
nsferring assets to spouses which are not available for transfers of asset
s to children. As a result the tax consequences of estate planning for ble
nded families will often inform estate planning decisions. This presentati
on will demonstrate the importance of good estate and tax planning for ble
nded families. We will explore the interplay between estate\, tax and fami
ly law as well as options for balancing the goals of support to a survivin
g spouse and preservation of assets for children from previous relationshi
