 terview them\, and the CIA lures them into a plot to assassinate the dicta
 tor.</p>\n<p>This fictional story so enraged the North Korean government t
 hat on June 25\, 2014\, the country&rsquo\;s Central News Agency condemned
  the film\, promising a &ldquo\;merciless&rdquo\; retaliation if it was di
 stributed.&nbsp\; In response to this and a variety of other threats\, the
  producers cancelled its theatrical release.&nbsp\; However\, with encoura
 gement from politicians and celebrities such as George Clooney\, Sean Penn
 \, Michael Moore\, and even President Barack Obama\, Sony Pictures Enterta
 inment decided to release the film on the originally planned date of Decem
