Ascension Parish Library has t eamed up with the Capitol Area Agency on Aging to present an evidence-base d fall prevention program for adults 60+ years of age. Tai Chi for Arthrit is and Fall Prevention offers a gentle exercise option that can help reduc e the risk of falling by improving strength\, balance\, coordination\, and flexibility. \;
\nEndorsed by the Centers for Disease Control a nd Prevention and Arthritis Foundations around the world\, Tai Chi is an e asy\, enjoyable\, and safe activity for people with or without arthritis t o learn. Medical studies have shown the program to relieve pain for people with arthritis and improve their quality of life\, as well as prevent fal ls for older adults. This series of one-hour classes will be held twice a week\, on Mondays and Wednesdays\, for eight weeks from April 17 &ndash\;J une 7.
