An adults only movie night celebrating 2SL GBTQIA+ people. This event is part of the Coquitlam Public Library&rsquo\; s acknowledgment of May 17\, the International Day Against Homophobia\, Tr ansphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT). Welcoming all 2SLGBTQIA+ adults and the ir allies\, this evening is a socialization event with drinks and refreshm ents followed by a showing of the movie The Adventures of Priscilla\, Queen of the Desert. The socialization hour will be held from 6:00-6: 45PM\, followed by the movie. This event is for adults ages 18 years old o r older\, registration is required and age will be verified. Teens 17 year s or older accompanied by an adult are also welcome\, but must show an ID for age verification.
\nThe International Day Against Homophobia\, T ransphobia and Biphobia was created in 2004 to draw the attention to the v iolence and discrimination experienced by lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, trans gender\, intersex people and all other people with diverse sexual orientat ions\, gender identities or expressions\, and sex characteristics. The dat e of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Orga nization&rsquo\;s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.
