 2" alt="" /></p>\n<p>M.A. Papanek-Miller is an artist who creates layered 
 mixed media/drawing related art works&nbsp\;informed by our human relation
 ships with animals\, plants\, water access and use which are seasoned with
  a bit of humor&nbsp\; and worry. Quiet color is explored on a variety of 
 surfaces utilizing&nbsp\;graphite\, thin layers of acrylic paints\, and ph
 otographs taken on-site on the land. Images are&nbsp\;drawn from collected
  childhood and related objects&nbsp\; believing in the imbued spirt and in
 wardness&nbsp\;of things and that in every object there is a story. Papane
 k-Miller was awarded an Artist Initiative Grant&nbsp\;from the Minnesota S
 tate Arts Board with support from the National&nbsp\; Endowment for the Ar
 ts\,&nbsp\;received an Individual Artist Grant from the Seattle Arts Commi
 ssion\, and exhibits with Jean&nbsp\;Albano Gallery in Chicago. She has an
  MFA in Art\, from the University of Houston\, TX\, is a&nbsp\;Professor a
 nd the Director of The Art School at DePaul University and served in simil
 ar&nbsp\;positions at The University of Montana\, Bemidji State University
 \, and at Cornish College of the&nbsp\;Arts. Her home base is in the North
