The Open Your World Online Book Clubs are designed for adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabili ties. Readers and aspiring readers can develop their literacy skills by re ading and discussing stories together. \;We use adapted novels and age -appropriate short stories. Visuals and other built-in supports are provid ed to increase fluency\, comprehension\, and vocabulary.

The abili ty to read is not a requirement for this book club. Participants will be a ssisted in reading if they wish\, or they may listen instead and join in t he discussion following the reading time. The text of the book is provided by screen sharing during the program\, so there is no need to obtain a ph ysical copy of the book.

In this session we are reading The Crossb ow Mystery at Yellowstone Park by Jerry Stemach. This is a story of myster y and adventure in which Nic Ford and his friends try to stop a gang of po achers at a national park.
