X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
JAYU is a Toronto-based charity dedicated
to sharing human rights stories through the arts. In partnership with Bram
pton Library\, JAYU&rsquo\;s iAM Intro to Photography program offers equit
y-deserving youth ages 12-29 free access to photography mentorship. This 6
week program is led by a local artist and two junior mentors who have tak
en the program in the past. The program is meant to give youth a first loo
k into how the arts can be used as a tool to tell human rights and social
justice stories and to spread a message that matters to them. A large part
of the program also works to ensure that youth are connected to employmen
t opportunities beyond their participation\, so after completion of this p
rogram\, a youth mentor will be invited to share the knowledge they learne
d. To ensure accessibility for all youth\, transit tickets and food are pr
ovided at each program session.
\nhttps://bramlib.libnet.info/event/838
