 In 2013\, Cortada created five striking\, large-scale banners to honor the
  remarkable scientific achievements of CERN researchers who utilized five 
 distinct search strategies to discover the Higgs boson\, helping to prove 
 the Standard Model of Physics. Drawing parallels between CERN's Large Hadr
 on Collider and a modern-day cathedral that shapes our understanding of th
 e universe and our worldviews\, the banners are permanently displayed at t
 he precise location where the particle was discovered. Don't miss this edu
 cational display\, sponsored by the&nbsp\;Xavier Cortada Foundation.</p>\n
 <p>Xavier Cortada\, Miami&rsquo\;s pioneer eco-artist\, uses art&rsquo\;s 
 elasticity to work across disciplines to engage communities in problem sol
 ving. Particularly environmentally focused\, his work intends to generate 
 awareness and action around climate change\, sea level rise\, and biodiver
 sity loss. Over the past three decades\, the Cuban-American artist has cre
 ated art at the North and South poles and across 6 continents\, including 
 more than 150 public artworks\, installations\, collaborative murals and s
 ocially engaged projects.&nbsp\;Cortada\, who serves as the inaugural Arti
 st-in-Residence for Miami-Dade County and University of Miami Professor of
  Practice\, has been commissioned to create art for&nbsp\;CERN\, the White
  House\, the World Bank\, the Frost Art Museum\, and Miami City Hall\, amo
 ng many other art\, science\, and government venues. Cortada received the 
 Environmental Law Institute&rsquo\;s 2021 National Wetlands Award\, was in
 cluded in the 2022 GRIST 50\, and delivered a TED Talk on the intersection
