Adair has a runaway curiosity about th e natural and cultural history of northern New England. Author of The Guns tock Parish: A History of Gilford\, New Hampshire\, she has also contribut ed to Proud to Live Here in the Connecticut River Valley\; Where the Great River Rises: An Atlas of the Upper Connecticut River\; and Beyond the Not ches: Stories of Place in New Hampshire's North Country. Executive Directo r of the Hanover Conservancy\, she served for 20 years as Conservation Dir ector of the Connecticut River Joint Commissions. Mulligan holds an MA deg ree from Smith College.
