\n\nAbout Dr. Amena Johnson<

Dr. Amena Johnson has deeply committed to youth\, social justice\, advocacy\, and educational equity throughout her career. She specializes in training\, facilitation\, and curriculum development. Amena has extensi ve experience as a non-profit and social services leader and higher educat ion student affairs professional. She has engaged communities in dialogue and learning around: urban bias\, intersectionality\, the intergenerationa l workplace\, LGBTQ topics\, and diversity and inclusion in educational an d nonprofit organizations.
\nDr. Johnson is the Executive Director o f Hope in a Box (HIAB). HIAB equips with LGBTQ-inclusive books\, curriculu m\, training\, and mentorship. She has a long-standing career in higher ed ucation and was the Assistant Director at \; George Mason University&r squo\;s LGBTQ Resource Center. Dr. Johnson also served as the Interim Dire ctor of Diversity\, Inclusion\, and Multicultural Education from 2015 &nda sh\; 2016 at George Mason University. Before George Mason\, she was Direct or of Programs at Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders (SM YAL)\, a youth center for LGBTQ youth ages 13-21. Amena was also a Communi ty Initiatives Associate at the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GL SEN).
\nAmena received a BFA in Drama Therapy from Longwood Universi ty. She also received an MS in Organizational Leadership and \; Ed.D i n Higher Education Leadership from Wilmington University.

She doesn&rsquo\;t just pride herself on her stellar
musically laced career\; Heat also revels in providing
experiences.
She often does so onstage while DJing for Grammy winning songstress Mya an
d\,
also for Grammy nominated songstress Carolyn Malachi.
DJ Heat furthered her career by stepping int
o the sports world\, and her current position as the
official DJ for
the 2019 WNBA Champion Washington Mystics and the NBA&rsquo\;s Washington<
br />Wizards. DJ Heat broke barriers by becoming the first ever female DJ
for the Washington
Wizards\, and one of only 3 female DJs in the enti
re NBA. She&rsquo\;s continued to make waves in the
sports industry b
y DJing the 2020 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Chicago\, the entire 2020<
br />WNBA &ldquo\;Wubble&rdquo\; season in Florida\, the 2021 WNBA All-Sta
r Game in Las Vegas\, and the 2022
NBA Japan Games in Tokyo.
There&rsquo\;s still much to come for thi
s true talent who masterfully mixes aptness and art. She&rsquo\;s only
scratched the surface. As proven in 2021 when Washingtonian named DJ Hea
t
Magazine as one of DC&rsquo\;s Top TikTok Stars\, thanks to her vid
eos that showcase DC&rsquo\;s signature
go-go sound. The music moveme
nt in Washington has shown that you can&rsquo\;t mute D.C\, and you
