This two-workshop series will explain mis- and disinformation and help people avoid falsehoods &ndash\; individually and in community with others. Part 1 will share the difference between th ese terms\, why falsehoods are coursing through our spaces and its impact on populations of all kinds. Part 2 will share practical tips people can u se when looking for information\, checking sources and discussing issues w ith others. Grounded in social science research and values like respect an d courage\, the program builds relationships and trust among participants to foster a community-based approach to this pervasive problem.

Th e workshops will be led by Truth in Common founder Deanna Troust. Troust i s a consultant and entrepreneur with decades of expertise in inclusive soc ial change\, and draws on her several years in partnership with disinforma tion researchers at New York University.
