DESCRIPTION:An opportunity for book lovers\, creatives\, & anyone in our c
ommunity to stretch their minds & legs on a low-key walk in Riverfront Par
k with novelist & Writing Education Specialist Sharma Shields..\nhttps://s

X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Gertrude Stein took long walks almost ever
y day in Paris. Georgia O'Keefe did the same in New Mexico. Toni Morrison
and Mary Oliver committed to a daily ritual of watching the sunrise. It's
no surprise that creativity and a sense of wonder go hand in hand. Artists
frequently fold daily walks\, physical activity\, and/or the great outdoo
rs into their creative process. In the spirit of wonder and discovery\, bo
ok and art lovers are invited to meet Writing Education Specialist Sharma
Shields just north of the Central Library at the Place of Truths Plaza on
Spokane Falls Boulevard for an energizing ramble in Riverfront Park. The c
onversation will be free-ranging and might include subjects such as books\
 , art\, music\, creativity\, inspiration\, and artistic process. Strollers
welcome and wheelchair-accessible routes can be used as needed. Walking p
articipants should wear good shoes and expect the journey to take approxim
ately 45 minutes to an hour.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you a
re agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations
that may be used in promotional materials including social media.</p>\n<p>
We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request
accommodations (i.e. hearing assistance\, ASL requests\, or other ADA inq
uiries)\, call the library at 509-444-5308.</p>\nhttps://spokanelibrary.li
