Join local artist Richard "Duarte" Brown f or an exciting art workshop at the Bexley Public Library! This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to unleash their creativity and learn new ar t techniques.
\nDuring the workshop\, Duarte will guide participants through the process of creating their own masterpiece. Participants will have the opportunity to explore different art styles and techniques while receiving Duarte's personalized guidance. No previous art experience is re quired - this workshop is open to artists of all levels\, from beginners t o experienced artists looking to refine their skills. All necessary materi als will be provided\, so all you need to bring is your creativity!

Artist Bio
\nRichard &ldquo\;Duarte&rdquo\; Brown is a master artist with t he TRANSIT ARTS Youth Arts Program and the Ohio Alliance for Arts Educatio n&rsquo\;s (OAAE) Art in the House program. For more than 30 years\, Duart e has dedicated his talents to helping young people in Columbus through co untless programs including CAPACITY (the Columbus Association for the Perf orming Arts&rsquo\; youth arts program)\, the Short Stop Youth Center\, th e King Arts Complex\, the OAAE Artists-in-Schools program\, the Greater Co lumbus Arts Council&rsquo\;s (GCAC) Children of the Future\, Ebony Boys\, Art Safe\, and Art Possible Ohio. A member of the Ohio Teaching Artist Ros ter\, Duarte has worked as a high school art instructor at the Arts and Co llege Preparatory Academy in Columbus. He has also led hands-on artmaking experiences at Whitehall City Schools and Berne Union Schools in the Villa ge of Sugar Grove in Fairfield County as a resident artist supported by th e Ohio Arts Council&rsquo\;s TeachArtsOhio arts learning grant program.
\nThrough his own mixed-media paintings\, Duarte connects people throu gh the sharing of narratives that unveil layers of personal development an d stir individual strength\, wisdom\, and courage. He encourages the innat e creative voice in all of us through visual demonstrations of ethnography that show a quest for growth\, provoke dialogue\, and draw out the brilli ance of the lifelong alumni of his creative influence. \; In 2022\, Du arte received the Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Fellowship from GCAC and the Columbus Museum of Art\, as well as the Governor's Award for Arts Educati on. \; His murals can be seen throughout Columbus\, bringing comfort a nd inspiration to countless viewers.
