She earned her fin with the Caribbean Mermaid Academy ba ck in 2016 on a trip to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. Since then\, has been spotted swimming back and forth between the shorelines of Southern O ntario and Key West\, Florida.
\nSherriel will read \;How to Meet a Mermaid by Sue Fliess and participants will have the opportun ity to make a mermaid jewelry craft and signs to use for the "cross-border wave." Participants will also have the opportunity to take pictures with Sherriel after the story. \;
\nAt 1:30\, we will move to a locat ion next to the river\, where participants will hold up the signs they hav e created and wave across the border to children from Port Huron who are p articipating in their own library's Summer Reading Program.
