 br />The WIFI Film Festival was created by the Washburn University mass me
 dia department in fall of 2018 and the first festival took place in spring
  2019. Each year the festival receives numerous film submissions and has r
 eceived over 2\,000 submissions from more than 100 countries.</p>\n<p><br 
 />At the core of WIFI&rsquo\;s inception is the belief that cinema is one 
 of the most democratic arts with its ability to reach large audiences on a
 n accessible and inclusive level. The festival is dedicated to promoting a
 nd celebrating film production\, stories from the Midwest\, and education 
 at Washburn University\, in the Topeka community\, and in the state of Kan
