 's grant allows them to serve families with minor&nbsp\;children who resid
 e in Shawnee County\, Kansas.</strong></p>\n<p>The Topeka Family Legal Pro
 ject provides free legal assistance for families with minor children who a
 re facing legal challenges related to housing\, education and/or public be
 nefits.</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Families in need of civil legal assistance
  who live in Shawnee County and have at least one parent/guardian and one 
 minor child are encouraged to apply for the TFLP. Eligibility requirements
  are set by grant funder. See below for more information regarding specifi
 c services the project may be able to provide.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Housing</li>

 esolution</li>\n<li>Security deposit return</li>\n<li>Education</li>\n<li>
 Request an individual education plan (IEP) or 504 plan for a student with 
 unmet educational needs</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with an existing IEP o
 r 504 plan</li>\n<li>Income Supports and Security</li>\n<li>Public Benefit
  appeals\, application assistance\, and system navigation with the followi
 ng programs:</li>\n<li>KanCare (Medicaid)</li>\n<li>Food assistance (SNAP/
 food stamps/EBT)</li>\n<li>LIEAP energy assistance</li>\n<li>Disability (S
 SI/SSDI)</li>\n<li>TANF cash assistance</li>\n<li>Emergency Water Assistan
