DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online discussion of Jean Kwok's 2010 coming of
  age novel..\nhttps://alexandria.libnet.info/event/8659994
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Written in an indelible voice that dramati
zes the tensions of an immigrant girl growing up between two cultures\, su
rrounded by a language and world only half understood\,&nbsp\;Girl in Tran
slation&nbsp\;is an unforgettable and classic novel of an American immigra
nt-a moving tale of hardship and triumph\, heartbreak and love\, and all t
hat gets lost in translation.</p>\n<p>The Diversity Book Club is hosted mo
nthly by AAUW Alexandria / Women Building Cross-Cultural Friendships (WBCC
 F) and co-sponsored by the Alexandria Burke Branch Library.</p>\n<p>WBCCF'
s goal is to give women the opportunity in a diverse and inclusive group t
o enrich their own lives through these relationships and help amplify the
voices of all women in our community. WBCCF&nbsp\;believes that the opport
unity to come together to explore issues of race\, religion\, ethnicity\,
etc. through well-chosen books will not only further our individual learni
ng but also create a setting in which we might ultimately decide on a comm
unity undertaking with wider implications.</p>\n<p>The Diversity Book Club
meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 PM. Please note that the gr
oup will meet on the first Monday of this month.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This progr
am will take place by Zoom and registration is required. After registering
with Bonnie Hershberg\, you will be e-mailed the link to join this Zoom m
eeting.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>If you have any questions about the program or woul
