ol age and older.</p>\n<p>Why come to open mic?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage in t
he life-affirming practice of vulnerability and expression.</li>\n<li>Lear
n from your fellow artists and participate in a creative community.</li>\n
<li>Enjoy some local music and poetry\, for free!</li>\n</ul>\n<p>How do I
sign up to perform?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Register ahead of time <a href="https:
 //docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd5dhHy50p94hhmvlJ3WSoB1GJM7sLIXuEfPwbn
GJCZMyu7qg/viewform?usp=sf_link">using this Google form</a> to secure a pe
rformance slot.</li>\n<li>If you&rsquo\;re not sure about performing\, you
r participation as a listener is equally appreciated! If you want to atten
d as an audience member only\, no need to register.</li>\n<li>If you feel
inspired to perform once you get here\, check in with your hosts. We&rsquo
\;ll save some slots for in-person signup.&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Will any
equipment be provided?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our set-up will include one vocal m
ic.</li>\n<li>We&rsquo\;ll also provide a guitar amp for musicians to plug
into (If you don&rsquo\;t feel like bringing a guitar\, your hosts will h
ave one you can borrow).&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>It is not necessary to use the s
ound equipment. The space will allow for an acoustic set if you prefer.</l
i>\n<li>Any additional sound equipment or instruments will need to be prov
ided by the performer.&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Anything I should know befor
e I perform?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>For eight minutes\, the mic is yours. For sing
ers\, that&rsquo\;s enough time for two to three songs\, on average. For p
oets\, it will depend on the length of your pieces. Do not feel obligated
to fill your entire time slot\, but do take care not to go over.&nbsp\;</l
i>\n<li>Double-check that your pieces are appropriate for a mixed-age audi
ence (high school and older). If you&rsquo\;re not sure\, ask.</li>\n<li>Y
our set should not include any discriminatory content. If people of any pa
rticular race\, gender\, disability\, or other dimension of identity would
feel unsafe or disrespected during your performance\, please adjust your
material.</li>\n<li>Listen well! It is incredibly generous of performers t
o let us into their worlds. Honor their vulnerability by staying quiet and
attentive during performances. You never know &ndash\; someone&rsquo\;s p
oem or song might contain the words you didn&rsquo\;t even know you were w
 aiting to hear.<br />&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\nhttps://dbrl.libnet.info/event/8
