r for the series.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>All materials will be supplied.
</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Acrylic paint is permanent&nbsp\;so it is recom
mended to wear an apron or a smock for these classes.</strong></p>\n<p>Exp
loring acrylic painting:&nbsp\; Over the course of eight weeks we will lea
rn what acrylic paint is\, how to use it successfully and what tools to us
e to achieve incredible results. In each class we will focus on building o
ur skills and becoming more familiar with common art terms and techniques.
&nbsp\; During each class\, artists will work on a project that will build
  skills and knowledge of acrylic painting.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><br />Week 1 (9/
15/23): We will begin by learning all about acrylic paint and discussing t
he versatility of this medium. We will explore the tools needed to be succ
essful and how best to care for them. The day will culminate in a hands-on
project that will focus on color theory and color mixing.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>
<br />Week 2 (9/22/23): Still Life: Shading: Building upon our color theor
y lesson students will work on creating a single composition still life. T
he work will focus on one object and give the artist time to explore in de
tail what they see before capturing it all on the canvas. The project is g
eared to&nbsp\; help the artist identify highlights and shadows on an obje
ct and successfully capture them on the canvas.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><br />Week
3 (9/29/23): Still Life\; Fabric Glass and/or Food: After working with col
or\, shadow and highlight we are now ready for the next step. This still l
ife will consist of multiple objects with various colors\, textures\, and
shapes. We will look at how we can build up tones to create a foundation&n
bsp\; base color. The majority of the activity will concentrate on mixing\
, painting and glazing. This lesson also explores different ways of creati
ng texture within an object.</p>\n<p><br />Week 4 (10/6/23): Landscapes of
Seascapes: . Working with the rule of thirds\, artists will translate a p
hotos to canvas. We will explore how using acrylics in different ways can
provide effects that range from watercolors to oils.&nbsp\; We will explor
e paint techniques and the dimension they bring when we use them together.
&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>*Artists will be asked to bring in a photo of their
  choice to explore this lesson.</p>\n<p><br />Week 5-8 (10/13\, 10/20\, 10
/27 and 11/3): Putting it all together: Over the final three classes artis
ts will work on creating a final artwork that speaks to their own point of
view. Each artist will select an image they would like to paint and bring
it to life on canvas. They will transfer the image to the canvas using th
e grid method and employ the skills learned over the past four weeks to br
ing that image to life. We will take time at the end of each class to have
a friendly critique that will give each artist an opportunity to ask ques
tions of their peers and help each other through the process.</p>\n<p></p>
