X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Robotics uses VEX IQ Generation 2 robot ki
 ts to learn the basics of robot design and operation. Participants will be
  divided into teams and work together to design and build a VEX IQ robot t
 o complete a given challenge (using either various VEX IQ challenge sets o
 r a challenge of the participants' own devising). Participants will be exp
 ected to keep &ldquo\;engineering&rdquo\; notebooks detailing progress the
 y make in both design and construction of their robot with each member of 
 the team taking turns acting as the &ldquo\;recorder&rdquo\; for the noteb
 ook.</p>\n<p>Participants should plan to remain in the course for the <em>
 <strong>entire period</strong></em> from mid-August through April (with no
  classes during December).&nbsp\; The program will wrap up with a final co
 mpetition/showcase open to family and friends the first week of May.&nbsp\
 ; The projected schedule includes: learning about the challenge and design
 ing options into October\; building/re-designing the robot into March\; pr
 acticing/skirmishing using the R/C controller into late April\; robot show
 case/competition at the last session.</p>\n<p><span style="color: #ff0000\
 ;"><strong>***</strong></span> Please note that the registration wait list
  will <em><strong>only</strong></em> be utilized in the event of <span sty
 le="color: #ff0000\;">cancellations</span> during the first four weeks of 
 the program OR if registrants <span style="color: #ff0000\;">no-show</span
 >&nbsp\;(3) times in the first four week period.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<span style=

  the program\, there will be no additions into the course after the end of
