 ia. She received her BA in English from Barnard College and her MFA from B
 rown University. From 2013 to 2015 she was a Wallace Stegner Fellow in fic
 tion at Stanford University.</p>\n<p><em>Eileen</em>\, her first novel\, w
 as shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Man Book
 er Prize\, and won the PEN/Hemingway Award for debut fiction.&nbsp\;<em>My
  Year of Rest and Relaxation</em>\,&nbsp\;<em>Death in Her Hands</em>\, an
 d&nbsp\;<em>Lapvona</em>\, her next three novels\, were&nbsp\;New York Tim
 es&nbsp\;bestsellers. She is also the author of the short story collection
 &nbsp\;<em>Homesick for Another World</em>&nbsp\;and a novella\,&nbsp\;<em
 >McGlue</em>.</p>\n<p>Whether writing about drug-addled socialites in the 
 days before the September 11th terrorist attacks or about desperate mediev
 al peasants under the rule of a debauched feudal lord\, Moshfegh&rsquo\;s 
 fiction is characterized by her macabre wit\, her unflinching lack of sent
 imentality\, and her darkly splendorous imagination.</p>\n<p>Doors at 6:30
