  dispute and sometimes armed conflict.&nbsp\; In the late 19th and through
 out the 20th centuries various reform movements have sought to change the 
 way elections and voting in general are conducted.&nbsp\; We will consider
  the different goals of these movements and analyze how successful they ha
 ve been.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Presenter:</strong> Ian J. Drake is an 
 associate professor of political science and law at Montclair State Univer
 sity in New Jersey.&nbsp\; He holds a PhD in American history from the Uni
 versity of Maryland and is an attorney\, who formerly practiced in the are
 as of tort and insurance law.&nbsp\; His research interests include Americ
 an legal and political history\, constitutional law\, and the history of a
 nimal rights laws and politics in America.</p>\n<p>This presentation and a
