In this workshop\, part of the 7th Annual Spokane Writers Conference\, the PEN-award-winning auth or of SEA OF HOOKS\, Lindsay Hill\, will engage participants in a conversa tion about how experimental writing can not only be a pleasure to read\, b ut also lead to breakthroughs in style\, form\, content\, and voice within one's own writing. This is a great workshop for poetry and fiction writer s who are interested in expanding their writing practive.
\nThe Spok ane Writers Conference is an annual two-day event organized by Spokane Cou nty Library District and Spokane Public Library. All workshops are free an d open to the public.
\nAbout Lindsay Hill:
\nA native San Fra nciscan\, Lindsay Hill has a literary degree from Bard College and current ly lives in Spokane. His poetry and fiction have appeared in New England R eview\, Conjunctions\, New American Writing\, Sulfur\, New Orleans Review and elsewhere. He has published six books of poetry with small presses and his debut novel\, SEA OF HOOKS\, won the 2014 PEN Center USA Fiction Awar d\, an IPPY Gold Medal\, and was a finalist for the Chautauqua Price. It w as also a Top 10 Book of the Year at both Publishers Weekly and New York M agazine. His manuscript\, TIDAL LOCK\, a work of experimental literary fic tion\, was shortlisted for the 2021 Dzanc Fiction Prize. He has coached an d edited the works of a number of published poets and facilitated writing workshops at Spark Central.
