Over the past few decades\, hospice care h as become a more familiar part of our collective vocabulary and experience \, yet many of us still don&rsquo\;t fully understand its purpose\, scope\ , costs\, availability\, and more.
\nHospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on the patient&rsquo\;s care and comfort\, rather than curat ive measures. Hospice care serves patients with a life expectancy of 6 mon ths or less\, as their disease runs its natural course. Hospices provide s ymptom management and comfort care. Curative measures involving aggressive treatment are normally not pursued.
